It is one of the most widely grown grape varieties in the world, and has a number of clones – one of the most unique is Garnacha Peluda, “Hairy Grenache,” which is only found in the Campo de Borja region.
First impression: A very bright wine with an overwhelming aroma of red cherries.
Taste: Intense cherry but more complex than the initial aroma. Flavors of vanilla, blackberry, plum, spice, balanced with oak and leather.
Special Notes: This is one of my favorite everyday, work-house wines. Very easily found under $15 per bottle, your house wine can equally impress and save.
